About

What is it?

A group dedicated to the richness of the Catholic intellectual tradition. We cover writings from some of the most prominent Catholic thinkers in history such as St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine of Hippo, St. Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, Diedrich Von Hildebrand, and so on. The group is open to anyone and everyone over the age of 21 with a desire to learn more about some of the greatest minds of the Church and what they had to say.

Why the Name?

St. Thomas Aquinas is our patron and is widely considered one of the greatest thinkers within the Church. He is the patron saint for philosophers, students, and Theologians. Though we will be interacting with the angelic doctor’s work we will also explore other great thinkers who have been impacted by his influence.

Mission

Our Patron: St. Thomas Aquinas

St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274) A Dominican friar was an Italian theologian and philosopher. He is credited for harmonizing theology and philosophy by systematizing theology and revitalizing the works of Greek philosophers such as Aristotle in the process. Considered to be one of the greatest influences in Western philosophy and the Catholic Church. St. Thomas Aquinas also earned the distinction of “Doctor of the Church” a title given to very few throughout history. Those who hold the distinction have been very influential in the development of Catholic doctrine and are accredited to writings that are regarded to be timeless and true.
