Discussion Topic: True Strength Requires Commitment – Public Discourse

Prompts for discussion: The following are just to aid in discussion…

  1. Are men and women really much happier in the contemporary sexual landscape? What are some of the pitfalls involved?
  2. Can you think of anything of value that does not have any responsibility tied to it? What are some other criteria that might be exclusive to the sexual act?
  3. How important are the unitive and procreative aspects of the sexual union and why can’t they be seperated? What does this say about our design as human beings and design in general?
  4. The sexual drive is a means to an end. What happens when it becomes the end in itself? Are there any other examples of things in nature that can cause disruptions if the means are not subordinate to the ends in which it is meant for?
  5. Why is the sexual act properly designated toward marriage? Do you think that this could potentially be a reason for why more people are getting divorced and why less are getting married?
  6. What do you think would be the consequence of living a life of promiscuity and then wanting to “settle down” after.
